Wonderful portrait. Merge of times... I don`t think you were able to find a girl looking like this in Alma-Ata in those years. More likely she would have a nicely pressed white shirt, a black skirt and a proud Lenin`s pin attached to her shirt pocket...
Beautiful face, by the way and great expression.
PS, Is the wall in Berlin?

@Nataly: though i´m not quite sure that kazakh girls wore well pressed white shirts and lenin´s pins all the time those years i have to agree to your point that we were not able to find a women like the one in the pic in almaty (nor anywhere else). and yes again: "the wall" happened to be in berlin. - but has been torn down in the meantime. ;-) the nice background in the picture above can be found some 50 kilometers south of berlin in an abondoned hospital last used by the soviet army. (see also http://zahai.aminus3.com/image/2009-03-30.html ) glad you liked the sound track. - did you understand the lyrics?

I used to listen to Vysotsky all the time living in Soviet Ukraine. Speaking of the 80`s i finished school in 1985. And most of the time I wore white shirt and Lenin`s pin. I moved to US when I was 25, so yes, I understand the lyrics and now I hear them in a very different way. This is the first time I listen to this music in at least the last 16 years. I think now I cn appreciate it and understand way much better then then.
